Press Release Summary: Beware of water hypes and scams and learn to evaluate what
you read on the Internet about these latest schemes to rip people off.

Press Release Body: It is usually billed as altered water, although altered to what
is usually the operative question. This type of water has supposedly been treated
with a variety of innovative, if not questionable methods that make it a slam-dunk
for the person who wants to be healthy.

The types of treatments include super ionization, pi mag, microclusters, oxygenation
and a variety of things like vortex, magnetic and photonic treatments. It seems the
only things these waters enhance is the pockets of the people who sell them.

Be aware that some of this altered water sells for over $20 a gallon, and don't
forget to add in the costs of shipping. If a consumer figures out the price of these
waters, they will realize they are paying roughly 3,000 times more than the cost of
tap water.

None of the altered water products are regulated by the government; other than to
meet standard rules for safe bottled water. This means manufacturers can make any
claims they want about the water and not much can be done about it. There is one
exception to this observation and that is if any health claims are made. At this
point the Food and Drug Administration would step in and ask for scientific proof -
often sadly lacking in altered waters.

One of the first giveaways about altered water is the phrasing of the promotion the
company is using to hype sales. They describe in great detail the symptoms of not
having enough water, but do not relate that to their specific process.

Beware of testimonials. There are no regulations in place to govern their
truthfulness and many may not even be accurate or come from real people. There may
also be a lot of promotion relating to a certain type of water treatment being
highly beneficial, but there is no corroborating scientific evidence.

In general when in doubt about the quality of the water being ingested, do specific
research to find out what the best method is for water purification. Most often
distillation is the only method that produces the purest water available.
Distillation guarantees clean, pure water that maintains health because it doesn't
have anything in it that isn't good for the body.
